Noooo not in Canada (I’ll check again but it wasn’t when I looked it up last month) 😭

I wish streaming platforms or theatres would show Laxe’s Fire Will Come bc even the synopsis and trailer did something to me and I’m dying to see it. I’m also curious about his You Are All Captains β€” the premise is very intriguing.

I missed The Secret Agent when screened in my small town for a limited time. I loved Sentimental Value. I also wanted to see It Was Just an Accident, but missed it. Sirat has been getting mixed reactions but i think it does a good job of evoking, rather than poking you in the eye w/ a message. 1/2

Lol, love the category of trash. Idk why Brad Pitt is still acting and why ppl pay him to act. Although he is handsome (which is why I watched most of his films), I stopped wasting my time watching anything he is in as the lead (so still haven’t seen Sirat then?)

The Literary Blurb Economy – Post45 Michael Maguire

there is an essay for and about everything @atpost45.bsky.social and @post45.bsky.social. Today, as I was looking for sources on blurb economy, I found this: post45.org/2018/11/the-...

revisiting this post as i do research for a bday gift for me. i want to spend my modest income to give myself the gift of watching a good film for pleasure & do nothing. is this worth spending money on to see in theaters or is it OK to wait for it to become available for streaming in a few months?

The cute little square-ish style reminded me of the English edition of one of my favorite author Robert Walser’s The Assistant πŸ’›

According to the Internet, it should be in theaters in 2026. I have a feeling that it might be true bc it’s gaining traction I believe. The sound design is phenomenal, among other things.

TIFF Lightbox 2026 January/February programming highlights

Wanted to share this bc I've been doing research on Laxe bc I'm touched by his cinematic vision. He is getting a TIFF retrospective&all 4 showings are SOLD OUT! I've read about his other films & am most curious about FIRE WILL COME, which is streaming nowhere 😭 tiff.net/press/news/t...

SiraΜ‚t - Official Trailer
YouTube video by Madman Films SiraΜ‚t - Official Trailer

Oh and this is the trailer to watch bc it also captures the techno music at the heart of the film. The other trailer does not include the OST. Laxe blends sound with images in a way that is difficult to forget: youtu.be/ww-IXHXvS70?...

You should (must) watch SIRAT to purge and for a truly cathartic, magnificent, and real cinematic experience (don’t read or watch anything about it β€” you will get hit with major spoilers. The official trailer is safe tho.)

just watched episode 7 of Pluribus - i think it's one of the best explorations of deep loneliness depicted in and through silence. i think anyone (or only those who have) who has experienced it that deeply in their everyday life would appreciate it.

Looking for recommendations while I have limited discount subscription: Any good Apple TV series? So far watched Severance, The Studio, Down Cemetery Road, Pluribus, Slow Horses, Silo and loved them.

Is AI Making Us Boring? AI works by predicting the most likely next thing, but in doing so, it risks becoming predictable and monotonousβ€”and so do we if we rely too much on the tool.

AI and LLMs trend towards sameness of expression - it might just make us all more boring!

i'm surprised that Todd even agreed to do the show, tbh. also, the below deck cross over was the best. the show gets better each season&i love every all of them. they each bring *something*, unlike BH, which has become so fake and the cast is boring and bad at acting, imo.

thank you for saying this. my diss advisor hated "the ways in which." he deleted them all, wrote "how," and passive aggressively underlined it.

This happens to me often β€” to my eyes&face even. For me, it’s often episodic&happens when my stress level increases, which always happens if I’m working more than usual and feel extra tired. Lack of sleep, not eating enough/well also contribute to the twitching. No keed to be alarmed, it’s normal 😭
