Not really in the mood for a lecture from the crocodile, the Ninja ignores the call and just stares out at the track...

Sitting at the finish line, Espio looked up at the sign at his placement, he didn't even want to know how bad he messed this up

"11th place.."

Almost dead last, only K Rool was behind him

"I was so close.. I had it! How can I let this happen.."

His phone was vibrating again, probably Vector

“Yeah Vector ….. I know! …. Yes I know we were counting on that prize money for this month's rent… I don’t know!"

"Look, the race is still going to have to go... Yeah... I don't know... I guess we’ll just have to pawn Charmy’s switch or something…"

Hanging up as he focuses back on the race

Tailing in dead last after being knocked back from starting at 1st, Espio felt a sudden vibration in his pocket. Taking out his phone and looking at the ID

“Shit..”

Answering the phone to immediate yelling, loud enough that others could likely even hear it despite not being on speaker

He barely even caught her words when the chameleon gets blindsided by a weight knocking him back even further until he's trailing in last place

"Noo... Vector is gonna so pissed"

Making a last-ditch effort he tried to use his triple boost power up, hoping he can catch up somehow

Despite his boost, Espio would get caught by the slicer as it knocks him back even farther, falling 3 more places back

💭: "This cannot be happening, not again"

Slamming into the wall as he's turned around completely

"Shit.."

He was grumbling to himself as he crossed into the final lap at 7th place before noticing Tron about ready to overtake him

"Don't think it'll be that easy"

Using his item he would boost in an attempt to create some distance between the 2

WOAH with an absolute CRUNCH, Espio gets hit by the billiard ball.

Jet still in first with NiGHTS taking 2nd, and trying to close the gap!

Then Sonic and Blaze shooting up, with Tron getting hit by Alicia!

WHO GOT HIT BY ESPIO !!

Holy moly, this is exhilarating!

a slipstream behind him that, if she chose to, Tron could probably use to gain some speed of her own

Espio, finally regaining his control found himself having been knocked all the way back to 7th place, just barely in front of Tron

"Damnit, I have to stop letting myself get distracted"

The chameleon drifted along in order to grab an item box to try and regain his position,

Espio, however wasn't so lucky.

*CRACK*

Smacked head-on by the billiard ball, the chameleon began to spin out as he fell behind not only Jet, but NiGHTS, Blaze and, unable to regain control in time, crashing right into Alicia, sending them both back even further

Swerving around the giant poker chips, Espio was so focused on avoiding the obstacles that he hadn't noticed Jet once again coming up alongside him until it was seemingly too late

Once they make it to the next lap, Espio let out a bit of a sigh, having pretty much been holding his breath the whole time he crossed the portal

But there was no time to relax. That was only the first lap.

"Alright, let's see what we've got here"

With an astounding first and second Espio, and Jet are going head to head!

It seems to be firing up, with Alicia and Tron taking 3rd and 4th respectively.

Krypt and NiGHTS, hanging around 5th and 6th! And Toph coming in 6th..

Espio eyeing the other track would open another item box, sending a rocket punch behind him towards the rogue

Making a beeline for the next Crossworld

"I think it's time to take a bit of a gamble"

And finishing the first lap he would then flip another 1440° as he lands on the giant Roulette wheel

From the boost pad he would then go off the ramp flipping over Jet as he landed directly in front of him

Despite them being opponents, Espio couldn't help but be impressed at the ease Jet nailed each minute detail.

💭:"Alright, don't get distracted, you got this"

Seeing a boost up ahead, Espio would then find himself back in Jet's slipstream, using it to then guide himself toward another boost pad

"Alright, time to lock the fuck in."

Hitting a few switches and levers on his dashboard, the Chameleon's vehicle would burst back into action. Espio doing everything he can to regain his list ground

Approaching the Hawk once again he would attempt to use the slipstream to regain his position

Unfortunately, unable to fully dodge the mine, the explosion was enough to at least disorient the Ninja momentarily, allowing Jet to gain a bit of distance ahead of him

"Fuck, that's not good"

Espio had no choice but to slow down in order to realign causing Her to gain even more distance

The chameleon did, in fact, see the opening and took it the first opportunity he could attempt to regain his position

"You better not be going easy on me because we're buddies Jet!"

Using the item he had picked up earlier a single boost as he zoomed off narrowly avoiding the wall
