At the time I wondered if the users knew the messages they were leaving for loved ones and friends were recorded. And this was some outsourced company where they paid us in cash to avoid tax, I wasn’t like an NDA’d Microsoft employee. They’ve been doing this stuff for years.

Over 10 years ago living in Asia, I got a side job where I listened to English messages recorded on Xbox consoles in USA/UK, logging errors from the speech-to-text software. Some of the personal stuff I heard was eye opening.

I’ve voted Labour all my life and I thought that the right shift was for show. Paying lip-service to a populace that had voted in the Tories 4 GEs in a row. I had thought that any policies I didn’t like would be rebalanced by some really strong left policies à la Blair/Brown. That hasn’t happened.

Owen I was pretty angry with you before the last GE. After you jumped ship just before a Labour win. Well, I was wrong and you were so right. This Labour gov has been so disappointing and Greens seem like a real hope after years of voting out of compromise. I hope you’ll accept my apologies.

Count Binface usually runs in the general elections too. I remember one of the MRLPs policies was free bikes for all. To both encourage healthy cycling everywhere and end bike thievery for good. Genius.

I think it pails in comparison to your experience. I was actually teaching in China over the pandemic. So while hardly fun, (and quite scary early on) I was probably insulated from the worst of it, job-wise. From your bio it seems you still lecture! I’m glad.

Yes that’s exactly what should have happened imo. Delaying whole years was not a good option so something along those lines would have been better.

I’m a teacher. I know. I just have real sympathy for this generation. People talk about university for life. Friends. experiences. They missed out on that and still paid eye watering amounts to boot.

Well they could have offered discounts to what is clearly an inferior product. Students had no choice but to pay. A chance at a good job (potentially) or go and work for Deliveroo. While self-employed workers got compensated. Not to mention fees to begin with are astronomical and unfair already.

So you think paying the same fees as those who had a different (and often life changing) experience is fair?

Nobody gets what they want in a pandemic, sure. But they’re still paying a £50,000 bill (with insane interest)? I have sympathy.

Oh great, binned off the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake for some more ‘clear the map’ bloated messes. Why make a tight 10-20 single player game when you can make a 150 hour game (with 10-20 hours of actual good content) instead?
