The Congress of Michigan has had a bill, HB4938, introduced that bans all representation of Trans+ individuals online, as well as all erotic media. Michigan peeps, tell your reps to vote NO and urge others to do the same. The more awareness we have on this issue, the better.

Note for clarity: When I say "Very few were disclosed", I mean at the time they were active.

"What radicalized you?" Day 1

56 Military "interventions" by the US in Latin America. Very few were disclosed to the public in the US, yet tax dollars went towards them regardless. These are only the ones available to public view.

...caribbean gourd banjos during the GAoP; however, the main instrument aboard pirate ships was probably the human voice. Many work songs were used by sailors (including shanties), but many of them from the GAoP remain unpreserved.

Fun Fact 8: Pirates during the GAoP (Golden Age of Piracy, approx. 1650 – 1730) actually didn't play accordions nor did they play concertinas. It is likely that many ships had buglers who would play natural trumpets to signal to the crew, and there is record of sailors encountering...

Does anyone else fw War Metal? I feel like it's a good subgenre, on par with most Black Metal, but I barely hear about it.

πŸ—ΊοΈ This is for everyone who has a #government that does horrible things in their name, who voted for a campaign promise but got nothing or the opposite, who has been disappointed repeatedly, who feels unheard, or who never even got a chance to vote at all!

Fun Fact 7: Ambisonics is a digital form of surround sound that encompasses a full sphere around the listener. It's generally rare to see music recorded this way, but it is out there.

Fun Fact 6: In Russian Orthodox Hymns, there are singers called 'Oktavists' that sing the low bass part, usually an octave or more below the standard bass part. Oktavist virtuosi have been known to reach down to C1, the lowest C on a piano.

Many of the TR-909's sounds would be considered 'generic' in today's market, but that only shows how essential it is to the world of drum machines; It provides both a blank template to work from and a standard to surpass.

Notably, the TR-909 was one of the first drum machines to use both sampling and realtime synthesis. The hi-hat, crash, and ride were sampled and later edited, whereas all the other samples used realtime subtractive synthesis.

To say that the TR-909 is 'ubiquitous' would be an understatement. Since its inception, it has been the favored baseline sound for many artists in trance, techno, and similar genres. It is so popular that most modern drum machines come with an emulation of it.

You are right, I suppose the more accurate term would be 'hardware' in my case. I wanna be able to adjust parameters physically, and that means either hard synths or MIDI controllers (both of which are outside my price range).

Self-Proclaimed 'Odinists' are cowards who hide behind the guise of 'tradition' to justify violent hatred. Further, next to none of them would be able to *actually* fight like a Viking. The whole lot are raven-starvers and don't deserve the name of AlfΓΆΓ°rin.

Torbans typically have 25 to 60 strings, which means it has one of the highest amount of strings of a plucked lute. Managing this amount of strings is quite a feat, making the instrument somewhat difficult to learn.

In the aftermath of the Russian Revolution, the Torban nearly disappeared due to the association with the upper class. However, it has recently enjoyed a bit of a resurrection due to easier manufacture and the rise of Ukrainian Folk Music.

Resembling the Italian Theorbo and the French AngΓ©lique, the Ukrainian Torban is often associated with the upper class of its home country. It has 7 double-strung courses tuned similarly to a Russian Guitar, but also has unfretted bass strings and unfretted treble strings.
