The third party debate was, aside from the obvious exception, the most intelligent political discourse I've heard in years. Washington: "[political parties] are likely... to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people."

It gets hate for being a bit weird and detached, but I still find its dystopian themes and Alex Turner's jaded lounge singer persona who "just wanted to be one of The Strokes" but sold out for "2 shows a day 4 nights a week, easy money" relevant today
