It's the best fruit season of the year, aka 참외 (Korean melon) season!! 🥰 I'm also so happy that I can find them at the farmers' market near me!!!

I saw videos about it pop up quite a few times on my FYP! I'm really baffled by how it even came about, and why "polyphonic" in particular was used as the descriptor.

I haven't really given additional thought though, since I end up scrolling past them after a few seconds. 😅

I was feeling REALLY anxious about the course I'm teaching this summer, but after this week and based on convos with some students, I think everything will be okay—

The “largest landback deal in California history” was just completed, and it could be a model for the future.

I forgot to add this crucial point, but one reason their word choice surprised me is because they're Korean immigrants whose view of LA was very colored by the 1992 uprising. If you know the history, well… you know.

My immigrant parents said 시위 (protest) and not 폭동 (riot) to describe what was happening in LA.

This may not seem all that revolutionary, but it's huge to me that they're (very slowly) becoming more aware of what words they're using.

Having recently experienced martial law in Korea, what happened yesterday in LA, and is ongoing nationally, does not look very different.
