Abolish the legal gender marker entirely. No government can be trusted to have a database of which people have changed theirs, no government has any business tracking what your gender is "supposed" to be in the first place.

posted abt korean politics and somebody replied to me saying they can't be bothered to care about international matters with everything going on here (don't go looking for that reply leave them alone) and it makes me think about how hard the US works to isolate us from developing global perspectives

All this to say that it was absolutely mind boggling to wake up and see that it was below 40F/4C earlier this morning.

SoCal residents often get mocked for complaining about being cold when it's below 60F/15C, but the cold seriously does feel different here, especially considering that the temperature isn't consistent at all throughout the day.

Originally being from the Northeast US, I am VERY familiar with the cold… but the temperature in LA these last few nights/early mornings almost feels like the cold I've experienced when it'd be below freezing in New England.

I'm reminded of when I taught a music in animation class for a few summers and I had an anime week. One scene I covered was the Asuka fight with Bach's Air on G… which inspired a student to binge all of NGE in the span of a few days, and I still think about the path I accidentally put them on 🫠

Thousands of institutions abandoned programs, ended or rewrote scholarships, closed down clubs and publications, all in pre-emptive compliance.

And you know why?

Mostly because they wanted to do it if they thought they could blame someone else for it.
