I think I read that the Alec Baldwin scene was written for the movie and isn't in the play. Even though I love that scene, I think it would be cool to see how the play feels different.

I love this book. It gives me a framework to examine many questions that I've struggled to form.

(I was the typesetting manager at the Brown Daily Herald in 1987-88. I earned a $7.25/hr which was *great*, except for (a) occasional 20-hour work weeks when other staff were out and (b) the opportunity cost of not-studying at a not-cheap school.

I was talking with Dave Hunkins about this a few months ago after I'd picked up a few print newspapers at the Frankfurt airport. I was surprised that all of the newspapers had such shockingly small print, especially because I assumed that a lot of their readers were our age.

When I'm working, I listen to international radio for human company, but w/o excess distraction, because I don't understand the words.

Today I spent an hour listening to a Pyongyang music station. It was even worse than I expected. Now I'm listening to Glasgow talk radio in Gàidheal. Much better.

You'll probably taste the difference in your adobo.

Outside of adobo, you'll *very much* taste the difference if you're just dropping a little bit of patis (vs. Thai or Vietnamese) as a condiment on your noodles or whatever, because patis (at least the "good" ones like Rufina) have no sugar.

But dang that your loved ones don't like whole peppercorns. How about fish sauce? My fam uses it along with the soy. RUFINA brand from the Philippines is best. Avoid fish sauce from other countries for adobo.

I prefer to pursue joy than to evade sorrow. But dang, there's something fun about doing both at the same time. Today I updated my "Phil died. Now what?" files so that my loved ones will have an easier time managing my estate if I pass before they do. Woot!
