Interesting video on the negative correlation of the prevalence of religion in countries and the quality of life in these countries. Less religion is correlated with better quality of education, medical care, freedom and other benefits. Supports your claim.

As others already said, that depends on what you read the article for. Often enough I just read the abstract and then search for the relevant part and/or method. Just takes a couple of minutes. If I need every single detail of the entire article, 2-3 hours may be realistic.
