trying to figure out why I enjoyed the game about the many forms of the grotesquely hopeless physical and mental prisons capitalism forces people into, from which there is no escape and no salvation.

be sad and hopeless about a dumb world made for the worst people, mostly.

it was hard to imagine EA possibly getting any worse, but I suppose "being bought out by private equity and the saudi government" would, somehow, actually accomplish that.

I've not given them a penny in decades, so it changes nothing for me, but good fucking god lol.

haven't said much here (or anywhere) because seeing the entire media ecosystem just sort of go along with an attempt to manufacture a 21st century horst wessel broke something in me I didn't know was still there to break.

it's s struggle to stay sane while looking at this shit. so I'm not.

b42 is very good. all of the additions are amazingly good.

I think my only complaints would be about the UI for the new systems, but there's already a mod that fixes most of that, and enough people have """left feedback""" about it that I'm sure they will address it before public release.

the rk 62 argument was enough to convince me.

playing zomboid for the first time in I don't know how many years without brita has taught me that zomboid really needs brita lol.

I looped this about 30 times

the biggest issue for me was that I was packaging it up into a repo for other people.

if it had just been for myself, I'd have finished in a couple of days, but making it foolproof and pre-configured added a lot of overhead.

but it's so close to done that I need to finish it. eventually lol.

I'd been planning on linking it on twitter(lol) when I finished it.

I spent like 4 weeks straight working on it. what killed it was a bunch of hosting nonsense that sapped my will to continue and by the time it was resolved, a bunch of shit needed to be updated and I decided to lie in bed instead.

workshop page says they're working on it, but no ETA and no guarantee they'll finish because apparently b42 broke everything.

honestly not sure I could play without it because pretty much all of the other gun mods are lacking somehow.

it's funny that you say that, because I also thought about finally finishing the morrowind mod repo I started 2 years ago, but then I looked at it lol

yeah, but it will take over 9000 hours to sort through mods...................................
