Heya, pushed a small update (R26.1) that makes video appears in the gallery view and embeds

thanks for having stuck around 🙇‍♀️ it was really fun.

if all you've used out of Skeetdeck is the thread posting functionality, then I've spun up an alternative app you can use, posteing.pages.dev.

this app is much more manageable for me to maintain as it's really just that one functionality.

if I were to be honest, I don't think I have it in me currently to maintain this app properly.

I'll keep it running for the time being but once OAuth becomes the standard for logins, you won't be able to login to Skeetdeck anymore.

bear in mind that this is still far in the future.

videos currently don't appear in the media gallery view, but expect to see that fixed tomorrow 🔜

so sorry this took a while, unfortunately I've just not been able to do anything with Skeetdeck as of late, especially since it's never been a project that's intended to make me money (honest)

if you've enjoyed Skeetdeck and can contribute code, please do, it'll be massively appreciated 🙇‍♀️

i'd probably recommend posteing.pages.dev in that case, it's just thread posting with no deck ui and other stuff

Heya, just a small little update.

I've updated the thread composer, raising the limits for self-threads from 9 posts to 25 posts.

Hopefully that's reasonable, based on what I've seen so far, cheers!

Hey y'all, you should be able to access your direct messages from Skeetdeck if you sign in again but this time with an app password that has "allow access to direct messages" toggled on during creation.

That said, you'll still be able to access it if you use your actual password.

Not that I'd recommend it, but the option is there.

Until the ability to create said app passwords has been implemented, I'll be disabling chat functionality for now, sorry!

heads up, app passwords won't be able to use the chat service, but paul has told me that they're intending on adding a new scope that allows it

Decided I won't do it after all 🤞

That's all for now regarding my future plans.

I'm still wrapping up on contributing to bsky.app on enhancing its post composer, so perhaps you might not even need to use Skeetdeck at all for this!

This also means you're automatically signed in to chats/DMs, instead of having to open it first.

I'd be making each account separate, they'll have their own decks and all.

Don't worry, multitasking via browser tabs will still be a thing, and from that you'd be able to have multiple accounts signed in at the same time.

While being able to put multiple columns from different accounts side-by-side is neat, the rest has been... not so great.

I don't know about anyone else, but I've found it somewhat messy (and confusing)

So I've been planning on redoing it.

Just curious, to anyone using Skeetdeck... I wonder if anyone's actually making full use of the multi-account functionality that it provides?
