I think our generation is more suited to making change within our communities, rather than on a national level. In my city, I have been seeing more gen x'ers get involved - either by more engagement w/the environment, or with local people & services.

You can find classic style pieces (blacks & grays) at Kohl's - usually good 4 basic shirts/blouses. Nice pullover sweaters. I have scored a few mens small pullover sweaters, when I couldn't find it in womens. Totally worth looking thru Kohl's 1st week of Dec each yr - good selection & sales.

When I taught German in grad school, xfiles came on Sunday nights. And I would give my students a Monday homework assignment (in German, of course) based on the previous night's show. The kids loved it!
