Black-box AI and cheap drones are outpacing global rules of war From 3D-printed drones to Anthropic’s Claude, advanced technologies are making conflict more accessible and less accountable β€” leaving human oversight at risk.

AI has long been used to analyze satellite imagery and guide missile-defense systems, but the use of chatbots such as Claude in decision-support systems is new https://restofworld.org/2026/anthropic-ai-and-iran-drone-warfare/?utm_campaign=row-social&utm_source=bluesky&utm_medium=social

AI error or not, Iran school bombing is a permanent stain on America’s soul | Will Bunch A debate on AI in warfare obscures the truth about an Iran school bombing. U.S. humans are to blame for this war crime.

They had names. They had beautiful faces. And they had the same dreams as your kids - crushed when American "precision" bombs slammed into their Minab elementary school, killing 175

Don't blame AI for this. Blame the sick humans who see war as a game

May not be what we would like. They need to scale fast and figure out how to make money or at least attract investment. It's often hard to retain the original vision under commercial pressure.

An example for the rest of us. These young women who were helped to get an education now do the same thing for the next generation. They don't have a lot but they pass along what they can. What happened to the rest of the world that we have forgotten this in our own societies.

β€œOur economy is broken. Our politics are broken. Even our relationships with each other feel broken. The people at the top work so hard to keep us angry and divided because our unity is a threat to their wealth and power. So their cable news networks and their social media algorithms tear us apart.”

I don't think you have to Nostradamus to figure that bombing Iran might raise oil prices. And it seems pretty obvious that buying oil in advance of causing an oil price spike might just save Americans a lot of money. But...

...maybe there wasn't much planning?

In 2025, leading mathematicians met in secret to test a new AI model. Its proofs sounded like those of a real mathematician presenting a complex argument.

But were we giving it more credit than it deserved? Are we at risk of accepting proofs we can’t understand?
