What a waste of momentum for the Democratic Party. People suffered for weeks for what?

Exactly. I really hope we’re all missing something here.

I won’t hold my breath.

My health insurance is going up an extra $4,500 a year, so $2,000 isn’t going to cut it.

And I’m one of the luckier ones. How does that help those seeing increases of $10,000 or more for their families?

I’ve got a twofer:

A Man Escaped and The Train.

Linked by their WWII theme, they both focus methodically on the details. The former is quiet. The latter loud. But both are tense and exciting and great examples of β€œthey don’t make β€˜em like this anymore” filmmaking.

Same thing happened to me this morning. Bittersweet being my first 1/6 win, knowing I need a new starter word.

Major vibe shift continues into day 2. For the first time in 2025, it seems like the inevitable march towards doom is stalling.

Is this what happiness feels like?

Women have traditionally held the low paying admin and teaching positions that AI is designed to replace in the short term. So it makes sense.

I only just started listening to the pod last month. Kicking myself I hadn’t hopped on this train earlier, but glad I was onboard in time for this one. Excellent stuff!

I’m not going to say your wrong, but the same things were said about the β€˜94 World Cup held in the US, and it was a massive success. The sport is now firmly established here. Americans love an β€œEvent,” and the RWC can be that.

The biggest issue will be competing with the NFL and NCAA football.

Better start catching up on 25 years of The Best Show podcast and Scharpling & Wurster calls.

There were definitely more Irish supporters in the stands. Maybe 2-1 if not 3-1. The streets of downtown Chicago today were a sea of green, and as far as empty seats go, I saw few.

Def a lot of Kiwi supporters as well, but in voice and numbers, the Irish dominated.

As someone who just left this sloppy, ugly match, the Americans in attendance didn’t even know what was happening beyond having a great time with a very up for it Irish-majority crowd.

No worries here. They may not follow through afterwards, but Americans love an event. And this was an event.

It’s been a bit shit so far, but Ireland is in the lead at the half and I’ll take it.

There are some holes left unfilled, as well as relying on a couple unfortunate tropes, but as a piece of empathic storytelling, this was top shelf.

I’ll deal with those issues for more of that kind of storytelling.
