I always donate spices. I worked in a shelter and even we never had enough spices for the meals we served. SO when we did food drives, I always picked some up because it really was a treat for many. Same with condiments.

SOme food banks actually do have the capacity. There are organizations that can buy food in bulk and make a hige impact. That's why it is always good to donate money instead of goods. But I say every can, package, loaf of bread can make a difference to someone who has nothing.
