Definitely, and I’d much rather us do that, which would also help cement who we’d need to buy at the end of the season — as opposed to giving more game time to players we know are heading out the door.

Yeah for sure, and we have a youthful core that definitely fit that. I do have faith in the majority of players we’ve bought recently. And even if we’re starting to look at other slightly more pragmatic manager options, I can’t see us doing a full 180 and going for someone super defensive.

I’d just love to invest in seeing a Gray, Bergvall, Maddison midfield. Not to say that would definitely work, but Bissouma and Bentancur haven’t shown much in the 6 at all, so I don’t really see any huge downsides in trying that out.

I’ve also been super keen to see Gray in the 6 as well, and would be more than happy if we gave him some minutes there in any of the upcoming league games (as you’ve mentioned!)

Yeah for sure. That rough fee in my head was more so just a reasonable spend in one window, and one which might get us back up around 6th(ish). But agree, to actually mount a serious challenge from here = way more.

Yeah fair! And I think that’s the decision we’re looking at. Keep Ange and put more faith in his system, or hire someone with a similar profile where the core of our squad would still be appropriate.

Would still love for Ange to succeed at Spurs, however at this stage I can’t see the club being keen on investing another 150m-200m into this system.

Cash’s tackle on Bentancur, nowhere near the ball = yellow card, nothing more.

Romero clearing a ball and collecting Enzo on the follow through = sending off and 3 game suspension.

How does VAR continually become worse over time? The whole thing was supposed to be a rough implementation that will gradually improve. It’s in a complete tailspin.

Fair call in terms of including keepers too. Hugely impressed with Vicario overall so far. All the combinations you’ve mentioned above were before my time! (I can only speak from the mid/late 90s onwards, so will take your word for it prior to that!) 👏

For sure, if it’s a combination of individuals then I’d pick differently too. However for a group that played together, it’d be fairly hard to beat (especially after a few more seasons together) 👌
