Canada, UK and the EU should offer a huge infrastructure and investments package to Greenland. Mining but with ecological care. A guarantee of independence. A massive trade deal. Sideline Agent Krasnov's AmeriKKKa. Show him the art of the deal (hint: it doesn't include thinly veiled threats).

I want to see a new alliance of true (at least -ish) democracies. I want to see "naval manoeuvers" by Canada and EU countries around Greenland. I want to see new economic channels opening between Canada, the EU, South America, and Australia. I want to see the USA sidelined as hostile and toxic.

There were loads of 'em! 37 vols from DAW (I had them all). 58 in total (the later ones German). Very weird that I never read them back in the day. I used to suck in that sort of stuff.

Of all my novels, only one has not been published. A DARK AND SUBTLE LIGHT was commissioned & purchased by Rebellion Publishing. They "changed their plans" & decided not to release it. They refuse to give (or sell) it back to me. Thus, it is suppressed. Coincidentally(?), it's about fighting Nazis.

Zelenskyy has made positive noises. Am I astounded? Actually, no, because—on reflection—he has no choice but to call the bluff.

So this first step is wholly to Russia's advantage and paves the way to a disastrous outcome for Ukraine. I will be astounded if Zelenskyy agrees. But if he refuses, Putin & Krasnov will portray him as the obstruction to peace.

Ukraine's power & infrastructure has been attacked persistently since the start of the invasion. It has survived. If Ukraine agrees to the ceasefire, look at what Putin & Krasnov want next: no more mobilisation of Ukrainians or rearming of its forces or foreign military aid or intelligence sharing.

The plot is transparent. Ukraine is damaging Russia’s power supply infrastructure, on which the Russian economy depends. So, Putin agrees to 30-day ceasefire re. attacks on energy infrastructure. Ukraine, in refusing the proposal (which offers little), will be made to look uncooperative.

BOOK REVIEW: I just read POMPEII by Robert Harris (2003). I really enjoy novels set during the height of the Roman Empire, so had high hopes for this one. Unfortunately, it didn't quite deliver. www.tumblr.com/markhodderau...
