Being a moderator is a job, and usually a thankless one.
It shouldn't be given to people who look at it in the same way a child on a forum sees mod status, I.E. "Now I get to ban anyone I don't like and they gotta respect me, and I can make secret channels for me and my friends and I can noclip!!"

Mods should be yelled at if they're not doing their job in upholding the safety and health of an online community. That's their job. They shouldn't be abused because nobody should be, but if the people in charge of a community fail the community they have to be held accountable.

And then they fire all of those smart people and replace them with less competent yes-men who will oblige in making products and life in general worse.

Tech CEOs are business majors with no real tech knowledge that want to be wealthy while having a plausible air of bein' smart to anyone who doesn't know they're a talentless hack.
So they either buy a tech company and pretend they're smart, or buy actually smart people to make the company for them.
