Spatial awareness IS the necessary awareness that sits under and above all maths, and which every child accesses as they move about and interact with their worlds.

Yes there is.
Loads.
And the problem with a ‘phonics for maths’ is the same as it is for reading- reducing reading to its smallest part.
And spatial awareness- which is not only indicative of later maths achievement but totally accessible to the youngest learner-
