I don't find the new water starter cute.

Being an older sibling who liked rpgs was rough. I spent a lot of my video game time being forced into co-op with a whiny younger brother and/or unsportsmen like dad

(This is literally the main reason why I care more about lore in fighting games, I joke that competitiveness was bred out of me 🤐)

You know, just thinking about this story makes me think of how much shovelware, my brother and I would have had to deal with if we were younger and coming up in the 7th gen era (Wii, PS3) there was shovelware back when I was coming up, but not to the prolific amounts the Wii had.

For instance, I never got video games for my birthday unless I specifically asked for it and was very clear about what I wanted. (I literally drew a picture of the earthbound box from my mom)

I think I may have enjoyed more genres than the ones that I had access to if most of the video games that were bought for the household we're just "games that the whole family would play"

My video game tastes were not the focus for household games I don't blame my parents for this.

I was musing to myself the other day, whether I would still like the genres of video games that I do If I didn't have to be a big sister as well. (For instance, would I enjoy the 3D collectathon so much if I didn't have to help my younger sibling with hard platforming challenges?)

I remember relatives speaking about about the 'spinsters' in the family with hushed voices about how sad it was they never married/had kids.

Never the same remorseful tones when speaking about the 'forever bachelors' in the family.

Oh heck yeah, I love seeing people's collections all neat and displayed 😍

I met a mom who was there, it was her first Magfest/convention, her first time cosplaying (Hatsune Miku) and she was there with daughter and grandkids.

That was one cool ass family 💖
I hope to see her cosplay again 😊

Haha, I had caught a cold and I think that was the first time in my life I was sick over Christmas.
It was rainy and miserable,
I already had to forego decorations due to other stuff
it was a sort of drab and sad holiday.
