10.07.2025 19:21 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0AP article headline discussing Microsoft providing AI to Israel โfor war but not to harm people in Gazaโ something totally normal and possible to achieve
donโt worry everybody, Microsoft had to lay off 9,000 people today so they could literally give 100 million more dollars in AI funding to Israel

Was easier than I thought it would be, idk why I waited so long
one thing the AI uptick has shown is that people resent creatives so much for what they perceive to be "not real work." and that means creating a narrative that people are overpaid for things they don't perceive as important/valuable, but still form entire consumer identities around.
13.06.2025 15:17 โ ๐ 2516 ๐ 417 ๐ฌ 19 ๐ 13This rules for a lot of reasons, but especially because it dispels the myths that A.) old games were never political and B.) games like this are just stories, they aren't "about" anything. Should serve as a reminder to anyone writing about games why we should be close reading 'em.
04.06.2025 23:02 โ ๐ 3814 ๐ 1652 ๐ฌ 25 ๐ 9The reason generative AI is so popular with wannabe creatives is best illustrated by something every pro writer has encountered: getting pitched an idea by someone saying "You write it and we'll split the profits!" because they think the idea is what has value, not the writing. The opposite is true.
05.06.2025 01:27 โ ๐ 2547 ๐ 737 ๐ฌ 46 ๐ 58We know this, it's not speculative, chatbots 100% are not conscious and lack the capacity to be conscious in the same way a Kia Sorento cannot be a lunar lander. You can learn how to make a chatbot. The engineers who built the thing have told them "there's no organ for thought, it's an illusion."

27.05.2025 02:05 โ ๐ 482 ๐ 110 ๐ฌ 16 ๐ 0Fortnite using a Gen AI voice of a dead man resulting in him saying heinous slurs is so fucking gross. Donโt even care if it was something someone signed off on, how do you not see the ethical and moral problems in such a thing? Gen AI supporters truly are soulless husks.
16.05.2025 22:44 โ ๐ 2021 ๐ 768 ๐ฌ 36 ๐ 10Just heard about SoundCloud changing its TOS to use content for AI plagiarism laundering. No permission asked, no opt-out.
What is it with techbros and an absolute disrespect for consent? If your ideas need to be smuggled and forced into our lives, how can that not give you pause? Itโs alarming.
Wikipedia never forced itself into every program, app, and browser I use. It never plagiarized my books. The scale of environmental damage caused by AI computing power is a global threat. AI is corporate-controlled, which is why Wikipedia & every other quasi-public source of info - is under threat.

21.04.2025 16:36 โ ๐ 1865 ๐ 957 ๐ฌ 7 ๐ 7As ai models are manipulated in this way more and more our ability to know anything will decrease extremely rapidly.
Ai is incredibly dangerous without this manipulationโฆ this is just the wholesale destruction of our collective sensemaking and consensus reality at scale.
learning that no amount of humanity on the behalf of myself or others like me can outweigh the ability for someone's mind to make up a justification and treat it as immuatable has been a valuable lesson in knowing who makes the world a nicer place to be in
16.04.2025 17:52 โ ๐ 307 ๐ 17 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Iโm sorry but if your students use AI to write papers and you use AI to grade them zero school is happening. You are running together on a hamster wheel

I'm thinking about no longer posting art on Twitter. Maybe post external links to Pixiv or Picarto or something.
First post here. Hello!
We'll see how this goes...
