Tell your MP: The Online Safety Act isn’t working What's the problem? The Online Safety Act has been a disaster. Rather than protect children, millions of adults are facing widespread censorship, and teenagers are having their freedom of expression…

UK users are cut adrift from current events by the Online Safety Act.

Platforms must moderate content that’s ‘harmful’.

A term that bursts the banks of porn to submerge news, advice and debate… it’s online censorship.

I recently actually started using Notion in place of Baserow for a couple of databases I want to update on my phone (Baserow doesn't have a good mobile experience). Do you use any databases and if so, have you found any decent non-Notion alternatives?

We Need to Reimagine Digital Maps as Public Infrastructure. Here’s Why. | TechPolicy.Press Google Maps serves over one billion users monthly, but unlike other essential infrastructure it operates without public oversight, Nidhi Singh Rathore writes.

Google Maps is critical for navigation, writes Nidhi Singh Rathore. It is essential to question the role this technology plays in our lives and recognize that such essential services should be treated as public infrastructure, not private commodities, she writes.

Exclusive: Google is indexing ChatGPT conversations, potentially exposing sensitive user data Thousands of shared ChatGPT chats are now appearing in Google search results.

Well this is bad. Google is indexing ChatGPT conversations exposing sensitive user data

I tried a few quick searches. I found someone's chat where I can see their api key

I found some building their resume. Their name, email and phone numbers are exposed.

AI is transforming how we communicate in relationships ‘All I wanted was to feel seen, heard and understood by him, but instead, he was sending me a robot’s questions’

I'm quoted in this piece. In short: do not use ChatGPT or any generative AI as a “therapist.” It’s not sentient. It doesn’t care. It may even lead people toward harm. And nothing shared is protected by HIPAA or real privacy standards; it's fodder for the machine. www.dazeddigital.com/life-culture...

Why Women in Tech isn't enough Women in Tech spaces help, but fall short in the long run. Real progress needs systemic change and active involvement from men in positions of power.

I have been back and forth over the span of 5 years about whether to publish this article.

“The combination of DEI and immigration is politically lethal,” Andreessen wrote. “When these two forms of discrimination combine, as they have for the last 60 years and on hyperdrive for the last decade…”

60 years ago was the civil rights movement, in case anyone was confused about his message.
