"For a star to be reborn, there is one thing that must happen: a gaseous nebula must collapse.

So collapse.
Crumble.
This is not your destruction.

This is your birth."

Yet another Celestron Origin image: nearby active/starburst gะฐlaxy NGC 3079 and, far beyond, gravitationally lensed twin images of quasar Q0957+561 at z=1.41. 60m exposure. Even from mag 4 skies at my house, stacked exposure reaches mag g=20.

A Hubble Space Telescope image of the core of quasar 3C 273. A coronagraph on Hubble blocks out the glare coming from the supermassive black hole at the heart of the quasar. This allows astronomers to see unprecedented details near the black hole such as weird filaments, lobes, and a mysterious L-shaped structure, probably caused by small galaxies being devoured by the black hole. Located 2.5 billion light-years away, 3C 273 is the first quasar (quasi-stellar object) ever discovered, in 1963.

Behold the cosmic ballet of the Rho Ophiuchi nebula, captured in breathtaking RGB by SadrAstro Observatory and processed by one of our members! ๐ŸŒŒโœจ

The intricate details reveal nature's incredible complexity, showing how even the vast emptiness of space is alive with creation and wonder. Each pixel tells a story billions of years in the making.

Who else is in awe of the universe's raw beauty? ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ“ท #Astronomy #Astrophotography #RhoOphiuchi

Feast your eyes on the Rho Ophiuchi complex as processed by one of our members whose processing ability is astounding to say the least. #astrophotography ๐Ÿ”ญ As Carl Sagan once said, "We're all made of star stuff" and it brings great peace to think our origins are as beautiful as this. Amazing!

Iโ€™ve been liked at surface level but as soon as someone tries to get to know me Iโ€™m told Iโ€™m too much or that โ€œover communicatingโ€ is a bad trait or Iโ€™m not expressive enough or Iโ€™m overwhelming

I'm sorry sis, been going through some major life changes and haven't been around much. I promise you things will get better. I will definitely be more active with the new year. I think astrologically everyone's just going through it right now. Something in the stars ๐ŸŒŒโœจ. Hope to see you in 2025.

A mere seven hundred light years from Earth toward the constellation Aquarius, a star is dying. The once sun-like star's last few thousand years have produced the Helix Nebula. Also known as NGC 7293, the cosmic Helix is a well studied and nearby example of a Planetary Nebula, typical of this final phase of stellar evolution. Combining narrow band data from emission lines of hydrogen atoms in red and oxygen atoms in blue-green hues, this deep image shows tantalizing details of the Helix, including its bright inner region about 3 light-years across. The white dot at the Helix's center is this Planetary Nebula's hot, dying central star. A simple looking nebula at first glance, the Helix is now understood to have a surprisingly complex geometry.
