That's the answer for every scummy move in gaming to be honest. Arc Raiders, like basically every other multiplayer game right now, is wallet checking you every few steps while trying to do *everything it possibly can* to retain players without spending that money. It's very frustrating to see.

I don't *need* to play it though. Cool touches like that feel cool *because of* the human element, they lose that with AI innately.

Wesker can request an Egg in Resident Evil 5 Mercenaries, a side mode. It is funny because of the line read. It's memorable even. Arc Raiders pings aren't.

I also don't think they ever revealed who the original actors were which has been needling people who care about this for a while.

Obviously, the issue is that this is a pointless detail and doesn't *add* anything to the game. They're using AI for something that really doesn't add anything as "Here's food!", "Here's high value scrap!", are all good options without having to use AI.

From what I recall:

When you ping, your character will say "Here's a Chocolate Bar!" The reason for the AI was, supposedly, so every item they add / could ever add could be pinged and have it's name said by the character, vs the other option which is hiring the actors to come back for each item.

Switch 2 decided to stop working catastrophic like after 9 months but thankfully I got warranty! Bad luck the last while but I'm sure it'll turn around.
