Somehow music or paintings or books are "real art" yet a game, made by dozens if not hundreds of people, many who are pouring their souls in to tell a story, craft an experience, or just let you have some damn fun - this somehow is just childish bleeps and bloops?

Playing a multiplayer game on Discord is analogous to going to playing pool with friends. Playing a game by yourself is no different from doing a crossword.

Why do video games still have this unshakeable cultural view of "a weird loner thing", even for regular people?

Often my go to for people who don't "get it" is the accessibility angle, "Look how much good it does in the world."

But also, like. Everyone, regardless of ability, is entitled to some fun, right?

Bumped into a neighbour this morning, who was complaining how he didn't understand his friend who "spends all day inside playing those damn computer games". I listened for a little while, and he asks "So what are you up to today?"

Welp, that's it. The Outer Wilds is one of the best games I've ever played, and I'll never get to play it again. 10/10, would highly recommend.

Reminds me of titles like Subnautica, Myst, or Spore - go play it, and for goodness sake do *not* look up the plot or gameplay before-hand!
