This year's classic film-themed Halloween costume is the painting of Gene Tierney as Laura Hunt in the film noir LAURA (1944), directed by Otto Preminger.

He's probably right but the same could be said about him!

Diary entry from actor Kenneth Williams dated 27 March 1969: "Lunched alone and that awful Michael Redgrave came over to my table & started talking. He said 'It is ridiculous us sitting facing each other for three days without speaking' and then asked about my picture. I said it was the same story with different costumes and asked him how he was enjoying working with Bette Davis in Connecting Rooms and he said 'She is wonderful' which she very obviously isn't. Bette herself avoids lunching with him and was at another table, with the Vicar -- that daft blond bloke who is 'Chaplain to the Rank Organisation', and obviously she wasn't enjoying herself, poor bitch."

Had to stop The Kenneth Williams Diaries about a year and a half ago because he is, as my mother would have said, a real pill. Picked it back up a couple days ago and I am not sure I can continue, he's insufferable!

1/4 I have the best story about June Lockhart. Around 2003 I was working a flight from LA to New York. I was in first class and she boarded first…very sweet…a bit eccentric. As the boarding process continued she called me over and asked if another passenger in first class was actor Patrick Swayze.
