I was in Dublin yesterday and I’m taller than most people (Dutch), they use umbrellas there just above their heads, then walk close by me. Sure your shoulder doesn’t touch me, but your umbrella pokes me in the ear…
Dublin was immensely unpleasant, they don’t clear their roads of snow or salt them.

There is a part of galway (Ireland) culture that is part of settling in here. You don’t use umbrellas in the rain, the wind causes the rain to come at you sideways so there is no point.

She does reassure me her job also had chaos/reorgs, but they kept people, they didn't lose their job unless they left themselves.
