I was right about the Netflix deal not going through, sadly. Sometimes I hate being right.
But this is not over. Still a lot of ways this takeover could go. It will take at least a year, and there will be a very different political climate by then Im sure.
Good for Discord.

I worry that this is an idle threat. I can just as easily see them focusing on pet issues (climate change, gun control) or coming apart over divisive issues (Israel).
But I agree. Anti-corruption reforms and accountability should dominate the next few years, but I'll believe that when I see it.

Mitch McConnell is why nothing happened to Trump for attempting to steal an election. However⦠he could stop him from stealing the next one.
Maybe heβll even get a McCain moment. Right on the heels of SCOTUS tariff strike down would be beautiful.

15.02.2026 23:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I get it, and I agree, but I think it misses the more important point. The strongest argument against Bondi is not that sheβs merely defending potential perps, itβs that sheβs breaking the law to do so.

I love Raskin, but I donβt really like this answer. He could say βa real lawyer would follow the law,β rather than this virtue signaling stuff.
I mean, if youβre representing a perpetrator, your job is to represent them, not βidentify with victims,β however unpopular that may be.

Jamie Raskin said in his book, Unthinkable, that in retrospect, Trump's violation of the emoluments clause was a stronger case to impeach him on.
I hope to see more people talking about this and it doesn't get lost in all of this nonsense.
I get the politics of it, but I'm just wondering if there is a better format than this? Like, I know it can't go on all day, but this is ridiculous, IMO.

I think this format of only giving committee members five minutes each is bad. Nothing is accomplished at all, other than political theater. Am I wrong? Is there a rules change that would make these hearings more effective?

Jamie Raskin's opening statement in Pam Bondi's hearing is fantastic. It might as well be the opening statement for her impeachment trial. Raskin continues to be one of the most articulate and sobering voice in Congress.
