MACE release 8 is now available. It contains 680 EI- and 50 Orbitrap mass spectra, including terpenoids, pheromones, alkaloids, lipids, etc.
The open-access data can be found at
doi.org/10.24355/dbb...
The MACE website with individual spectra is accessible via🧪

For the GC/MS analyses of these long methylalkyl methyl ethers, it is most useful to use Orbitrap instead of quadrupole GC/MS. The spectral analysis is easier with a tool called by us ion series spectra (ISS). See in Analyt. Chem. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/...

Our new paper is out @royalsociety.org! We discovered that crustaceans are, like many insects, chemically defended. The woodlouse Porcellio scaber secretes quinoline-derivates which deter predators. Three of the four identified metabolites were previously unknown.

A picture of a flyer for Myriapod Meet-up 2025. There is an image of a millipede, and details about the date and time of the online meeting. The date of the meeting is on March 25, 2025 at 8:00AM - 5:00PM, New York, US (UTC -4). The Marek lab at Virginia Tech is hosting the 2025 Myriapod Meet-up. The Meet-up will be a chance to talk about Myriapoda, and catch up with colleagues. Those interested in presenting their myriapod-related studies, are invited to give a 5-minute lightning style talk (3 mins. talk + 2 mins. questions). These talks will provide a venue to share your exciting myriapod (or Onychophora) related research in a low-pressure relaxed setting. There will be open discussion sessions from 10-10:30AM, 12-12:30PM, and 3-3:30PM, to ask further questions and for general discussion. You are certainly welcome to not give a talk, and to observe and/or discuss. If you would like to participate in this Meet-up, please register at the blue link to the left. Be sure to provide your email address, so that we can send you a Zoom link for the meeting.
Myriapod Meet Up 2025 — 25 March, 8AM - 5PM (EDT). This online event will include short talks, and a chance to share and discuss research about myriapods (and other multipedes, e.g. Onychophora). Anyone may participate in this free event (no need to give a talk).
