needing constant reassurance. nobody could possibly have the patience for it! those that say otherwise lie through their teeth, grant us false hope. they bestow kindness, realize we are contagious, and they flee before we can sink our teeth into them, before we can eat up their time, their energy

continuing to eat ourselves alive. poisoned by knowledge that we've tried and failed to bury: we are insignificant. no wisdom, no drive, no awareness, no hook to draw others in. the entire self -- prose, presentation, thoughts -- all leeched from those above us. a poor imitation of something greater
