When doing it, it hurts for a few seconds, then if you maintain it properly it will only hurt a bit to blow your nose or if you touch it. Mine got totally healed at month 4, when my nose stopped being a tiny bit swollen, it will only smell bad, I assume, if you don't clean it daily. Mine doesn't. 👍
