Red-figure pottery vessel shaped like a lobster claw. It features a handle arching from the broad claw base, with reserved orange-red figures and palmette-floral motifs against a glossy black-glazed background. Minor chips visible on the edges.

This is a marvelous example of whimsy and craftsmanship! A rare Greek askos, made in the shape of a lobster claw. 🦞
Dating back to approximately 450 BC, the vessel was used to hold perfumed oil.
