I love this laptop. Had the opportunity to work on it for a few weeks and it's a pleasure to use. Wonderful screen. Wonderful keyboard. AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 & NVIDIA RTX 5070 make a perfect combination. I like my 14" Darter but I can feel the tug from this one.

With the interface rebuilt in Rust code, it's now more stable, secure, and will become even more performant as we continue to optimize COSMIC in its current state.

From System76 CEO and Founder Carl Richell: Interesting fact: AMD+NVIDIA hybrid laptops require Wayland. This is because the latest AMD Radeon integrated GPUs are not VGA compatible and hybrid won't work in that configuration on X11 (everything runs on the dGPU).

Pop!_OS 24.04 LTS provides a better hybrid graphics experience, especially for this laptop. With the new COSMIC desktop environment, the GPU remains off until you specify to use it for the app you're launching.

Use workspaces horizontally or vertically, per-display or spanning all displays. Pin any number of them to make them static. Float or tile windows per-workspace.

Windows can snap to corners, gravitate to screen edges, and be dragged from any area using Super+Left Click. Stack any window (floating or tiled) to combine apps together like tabs in a web browser.

COSMIC includes an integrated tiling windows manager. When mastered, tiling feels incredibly fast.

Workspaces keep your windows organized and clutter out of sight. From the overview, you can move windows or entire workspaces around — and even across displays. Pin them to keep them active, even after a reboot!

COSMIC applets are powerful, versatile tools. For example, the Logo Menu applet in COSMIC Store adds a logo to the panel where, akin to the Windows Start menu, you can select from a variety of actions from the same applet.

These actions are customizable, as is the logo itself!
