Finally a moiré mug with a handle is finished and glazed! It has a couple fixable flaws but I’m super happy with how this design came out #pottery #slipcasting

The first moiré mugs are glaze fired! Super happy with the black slip, I love the contrast. I tried both clear and matte clear glaze; evidently the matte didn’t work out well since it both doesn’t have as much contrast, and resulted in bloating. #pottery #slipcasting

Very pleased with my dark slip test, it got a lot darker in the cone 5 firing! The stuff I’m using for mugs now has 3x as much stain so hopefully the contrast is striking. Also, “matte clear” glaze lightens the color more than I expected, so I might play with non-matte too #pottery #slipcasting
