This creates the paradox of, for example: a country which criminalizes sexualized fictional depictions of "minors" hosting such an explicit artwork in one of it's most well-known museum.
Why can't we value contemporary artwork the same way? Is it only icky because it's contemporary?

More random thoughts I wanna throw in here: Pornographic art has always been subject to (attempted) censorship, only for us to later find great value in it, making it exempt from current censorship, just because it's a couple hundred years old.

I also find it "hilarious" how (non-consensual) violence in fiction is a-ok, but non-consensual fictional sex is the Big Bad. Typical American double-standard.
It's like when violent games in the US are rated 12+, but a single depiction of nudity makes it 18+.

Right, it's so darn mind-boggling! It's because the people who write those laws have no knowledge of digital privacy, heck they often don't even know the basics of how the internet works. And even if experts are invited to comment on the law-making progress, their expert input falls on deaf ears 🤡

But companies would rather scan your biometrics (face) or have a full copy of your ID to illegally sell to 3rd parties 🤡

With electronic IDs it is technically possible to transmit only one piece of data, namely whether the client is above 18 or not. No other data, not even one's age would need to be transmitted.

Apparently they determine it based on your account's location, but even then it makes no sense because my IP location has been America for the past 5 yrs or so (vpn).
Tbh Im not even against age verification, if it was implemented in a privacy-respecting & user-friendly way (which IS 100% possible)
