Do you remember the extremely emo kid who had a LiveJournal account and used to post the most incredibly emo sounding things... and then some months (years?) later revealed the whole thing was fake? He was just kid who thought it'd be funny to troll everyone.

This was maybe the mid-2000s.

What ends up happening is we get such a deluge of games that really good ones have a hard time standing out, and so many games fail to create an identity that makes them stand out.

I'd watch so long as it's helmed by Gilroy. Kleya had some incredibly powerful moments in season 2.

They were a truly fucked up pair. That wasn't a fun time to be a high school student (I was in high school in NY at the time).

And with a painting the artist has a lot more control because it's a passive medium. The artist can imbue the message whether I get it or not.

Board games are a pile of wood, cardboard, and plastic, and never become a thing until you read the rules and put the components together.

And this doesn't mean games can't overcome this limitations; I'm sure plenty of people would be sharpening their knives to refute me. But the limitation exists, and designers (like Cole) have to find ways to use those limitations to also express their underlying message.

I've always held that one of the fundamental limitations of board games as political art is that they are experiential media that requires the players to play them in order to interpret them. Depending on how that experience goes will likely impact whether the underlying message is conveyed.

Maybe you should write about these games. Maybe create a blog or something where you can talk about them in depth. You could call the blog like Biff-Space or something. Just figured I'd share this brilliant idea with you.

That's a cruel piece of labor to do to those in China who make the game.

To be fair, the MAGA crowd also don't care. The president needs them to care because he's definitely in the Epstein files.
