Harris-Walz ran exactly the sort of economics and “kitchen-table issues” campaign these voices recommend, adamantly avoiding identity politics.
Biden-Harris was a working-and-middle-class-economics-focused administration.
“Ah, but in 2020, Democrats said…”
Yes, that was the election they won.

Also the audiobooks are so so soooo good if you can get your hands on them. My library had them and truly what a gift.

If you’re gonna take one recommendation from me, it should be this one. Slippery Creatures (and all the Will Darling books) is truly special. The setting, the characters, the plotting. Chef’s kiss. Will Darling is magnificent, Kim Secretan is life-changing. Read this!!!

Previously I’d only ever read Band Sinister (which was incredible!) and had been kind of waiting for the right moment to inhale her whole oeuvre and the time has finally come and I couldn’t be enjoying it more.

Lately I’ve been on a KJ Charles deep dive and it’s wild how there’s not a single miss in the bunch. My faves (so far!) are the Will Darling books (I’m OBSESSED), but Any Old Diamonds blew my mind, and Secret Lives of Country Gentlemen + A Nobleman’s Guide to Seducing a Scoundrel were perfection.

A very small kitten, tabby and white, shouting while I hold her up in the air with one hand. If you look closely you can see that both she, and my hand, are covered in dirt. The plant in question is blurry in the background.
Tiny criminal, photographed this morning.
She jumped in the plant and promptly got digging zoomies.

I need the “the show empty and hollow without Bobby” people to sit tf down tbh. I’d love for Bobby to come back too but the season so far is objectively very fun and exploring some interesting character dynamics. HenAthena friendship! BuckHarry brotherhood! KarenMaddie hangout?!?! It’s fun!!

Also I’m genuinely loving seeing more of Harry and May this season!

So far the opening arc of this season of 911 is about Henren supremacy, happy paramedic Eddie, big brother Buck, everyone on the team and their families having lethal face cards, and the barely-fictional tech billionaire being just as evil and his tech being just as stupid as you’d expect. Love it.

With each new listen, I do think TLOAS has revealed itself to be more interesting and more accomplished than it seemed to me at first. It’s definitely been a grower for me, maybe more than any other TS album, but in a way the outsized negative reaction has made me reassess it more positively.

Amid shutdown, Trump administration guts department overseeing special education
Multiple sources tell NPR that, as part of the Trump administration's latest reduction-in-force, the U.S. Department of Education has gutted the office that handles special education.
This special education news is really devastating and we're going to learn more in the coming days as we get more info and people figure out exactly what it means, but a reminder that disabled people are entitled to a free appropriate public education.

Also 911 is 911-ing harder than ever even without Bobby. A whale ate a man. They had to give schoolchildren vodka to save their lives. They’re going to SPACE. God I love this show’s season premieres/opening arcs, they so bonkers. Imagine hating fun.

People are out here making me defend some of the lyrics I don’t even like on Life of a Showgirl because the takes are so bad and such a reach. I promise you can just dislike it!!! You don’t have to do all that!!
