it even has the same disney world structure where you hang out with leonardo davinci for a bit and then you get 5 minutes of the actual main plot progressing

Assassin's Creed is one of the few series where I'll play absolutely any game that comes out - because I know it's gonna be a time, whether good or bad. It's historical Kingdom Hearts, and I love it.

I took six years of German in high school and college, and I can remember approximately 50 words.

Hey, uh, anyone want me to write about why people should go back to Unity, and why it's the pinnacle of the series right alongside AC2?

Assassin's Creed Unity is getting a 60fps patch on PS5 and Xbox tomorrow. I've long said that (once it was fixed), this is one of the best entries in the entire franchise. Go back to it - you'll see a vision of where the series could have gone. Absolutely pumped to play it again.

Definitely! Very much feels like a good game that didn't *quite* get to greatness, but could with more refinement in what they do next.

I will likely be talking about RTS games on An Evening at the Inn, because eh, close enough, and they're my second love.

Age of Darkness: Final Stand on Steam Age of Darkness: Final Stand is a dark fantasy survival RTS where you must illuminate, build and defend humanity’s last bastion against hordes of Nightmares. Set in the remnants of a kingdom consumed ...

Catching up on a few RTS games that I missed, and spent some time with Age of Darkness. A little janky, but a very cool survival-focused RTS. Has a okay campaign, but the survival mode is incredibly satisfying. Almost like a Horde mode spliced into an RTS. store.steampowered.com/app/1426450/...

The dystopic future is so much worse and vastly more stupid than any book, movie, or story ever predicted

Resident Evil title calls RANKED As a reminder of what Capcom has kept from us, I ranked all the title calls from the Resident Evil franchise.

The DEFINITIVE RANKING of Resident Evil title calls. Because I have a lot of free time!

paid newsletter went out this morning where I dissect what happened to digital media through the lens of my last gig. more here: shannonliao.substack.com/p/so-what-th...

These comments from Rinehart are utterly ludicrous. Journalism has always been done by human reporters and writers. It is not "RARE" to find reporters who can write, writing is part of reporting! And I don't believe that these editors she refers to who'd prefer to edit AI-written pieces exist.

Bizarre feeling for me personally, too, seeing where I was at then, compared to now.

Oh absolutely. I think it's almost downright impossible right now for anyone to really "break in" to the scene. Because there are already dozens of established writers jockeying for the work that would normally go to elevating new voices

03.03.2026 23:11 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I feel for you, man. I've been lightly applying to stuff across the last year and had basically a single interview from a couple dozen apps. And I'm terrified of how that's going to continue now that I *really* need a job

Makes me wonder how long the fed can lie through their teeth about job growth and markets before things really hit a breaking point. Cost of living, groceries, insurance, everything going through the roof. Jobs dwindling. AI and private equity ravaging entire industries. At what point does it break

03.03.2026 22:56 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

But I've talked to others who have been laid off in the last couple of years, and people can't find jobs - period. In their field, outside of their field, retail, restaurants, whave have you. The job market EVERYWHERE is abysmal. Unbelievably so.

It goes without saying that we need reporting and journalism in ever industry, games included. But there's so little support to do the real work, I don't even know what the answer is. I love a lot of the independent sites out there, but man, things feel dire.

03.03.2026 22:53 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I've genuinely lost count of the media layoffs since my own just a month and a half ago. Probably the worst I've ever seen this job market in my entire life. Dozens upon dozens of freelancers, staff writers stretched to the brink, and more and more independent sites struggling to scrape by.
