#RescueUpdate A wholesome moment that said everything. A moment that carried hope and the beginning of something better.

Veer stretched his trunk out of the ambulance, curiously reaching toward the world beyond, as if trying to understand this new chapter that awaited him. He's so tall! 🐘

#RescueUpdate On the way, our team stopped to procure fresh fodder so Veer could eat during the journey. Making sure he has fresh food to keep up his energy as we continue this long road to safety.

Every donation makes a difference 🧑: give.wildlifesos.org/page/183612/donate/1?ea.tracking.id=VeerSM

Our Campaign Officer, Natasha, reporting from the field, closely monitoring his condition and sharing updates as Veer continues forward. Today, he looks calmer, nourished, and is slowly regaining his strength for the rest of the journey ahead.

Thank you for walking this journey with Veer.

#RescueUpdate Veer’s crippled condition make it difficult for him to stand for more than a few hours. So we’re taking this journey slowly. We got an excavator to create a slope for him to step down safely from the ambulance, and to prepare a mud bed where he could lie down.

Follow for more updates.

Veer has boarded the ambulance.

Our team moved slowly. One step, one banana. Gentle words of encouragement. And slowly, he walked in.

Now begins a tough drive ahead.

Please stand with Veer. Every donation moves him closer to a life of freedom and dignity.: give.wildlifesos.org/page/183612/...

#UrgentRescue This was the scene earlier this afternoon after our team reached Veer’s location. Panic had spread quickly, and large crowds gathered after witnessing the condition he was in.

Our team worked quickly to safely isolate him from the chaos and move him into a calmer, more secure space.

#UrgentRescue Our team have finally reached Veer!

Our veterinarian is checking him carefully to make sure he is stable. We’re offering him fresh fruits and fodder, giving him time to understand that we are not here to hurt him. When he feels calm and ready, we will begin his journey to safety.

He’s only 26, but his body looks far older, worn down and visibly exhausted from years of begging on the street.

We’ve named this broken tusker Veer - meaning brave and courageous, because somehow, after everything he has endured, he refuses to fall.

Our ambulance is on the way!

Watching this elephant walk is deeply traumatizing.

With the support of the Uttar Pradesh Forest Department, we are working to rescue him. His name is Veer and he needs immediate care.

Your support at this crucial moment could change, and save, his life: give.wildlifesos.org/page/183612/...

As temps rise, Ella β€” one of our oldest elephants β€” displayed mild respiratory strain. Tests confirmed an infection.
She’s now on antibiotics and supportive care. Her vitals are stable, appetite steady, and her routine adjusted for recovery.
She remains under close watch. We’ll share updates soon.

Winter + water? Absolutely not…unless you’re Zara.

One of those rare winter afternoons when the sun pops out and water warmed up β€” Zara was ready. She hopped right in for 30 minutes of pool time: lounging, splashing, dipping.

Meanwhile, Arya in the background = all of us, staying away from water.
