Today I filed my papers for re-election to continue to serve the constituents of California's 19th Congressional District. I’m proud of what we have accomplished together and would be honored by your vote this election.

Supreme Court won’t disturb new California congressional map It seemed unlikely the justices would block Democrats’ gerrymandering effort after they kept Texas’ Republican map in place.

Today, the Supreme Court of the United States cleared the way for California’s voter-approved congressional maps to be used in the 2026 elections ensuring that the voices of Californians, not politics, shape our representation.

That means that, if chosen by the constituents of our congressional district in the midterm elections of 2026, it will be my honor and privilege to continue my commitment, dedication, and service to the same people and values of this place that we call home.

Despite the changes in Congressional Districts in other parts of California, our 19th Congressional District will stay the exact same.

Furthermore, the vote on Prop 50 demonstrates that Californians especially want a majority in the United States Congress that stops kowtowing to the executive branch and starts stepping up to be an appropriate check and balance as mandated by our Article One responsibilities.

Tuesday's election results speak for themselves. Voters across California and the country decided decisively to get in the ring and fight back against this Administration, its policies, and its broken promises to reduce the high prices that are hurting working families. 🧵

Prop 50 is an emergency response to a power grab. Election day is a week away.

There are many ways you can make sure your vote is counted:
1️⃣ Mail it - Postmark by Nov 4
2️⃣ Drop it off - Use an official drop box or your county elections office
3️⃣ Vote in person - Drop your ballot at any vote center

Great to be a part of a No Kings rally in our 19th Congressional District. There was a lot of people, energy, and unity that is needed now more than ever to not just fight back, but also to fight forward.

Prop 50’s changes are designed as a one-time shift - the independent commission returns after 2030 to redraw districts using updated census data.
