Our Premier has no regard for the truth. She cares only about narratives that deflect blame away from herself and her decisions and onto others, regardless of whether those narratives contain any truth at all.

But he's stopped so many wars, at least according to him. He deserves a second FIFA peace prize.

OFFS. When Iran tried to interefere in 2020, researchers caught them and called them out. Then the Benz-Weiss-Taibbi-Musk-Jordan-Trump axis labeled those researchers "censors" ... and set about defunding them and dismantling their organizations.

I appear to be sneaking up on the 2K followers milestone, despite my being rather noticeably inconsistent in posting frequency (and quality, I'm sure XD).

But if I make it to 2K and appear to be staying there, my little publishing company will make a $500 donation to the Meow Foundation.

-Zero Congressional consultation or approval.
-Zero preparation of public for need/consequences of war.
-Zero evidence of thought about "OK, what might the other side do?" Next month. Next year.
-Zero mention of anti-nuke agreement Trump voided, or Trump claim last year that nukes "obliterated."

I used the latest Claude LLM last week to write some code for me. Did an amazing job. Great code with good documentation on one prompt. Very impressive. Don't think I will use OpenAI or any other competitors after seeing Anthropic stand up to the Trump regime, not to mention the quality of the tool

They could have qualified the statement thus: "Canada supports the United States acting [by diplomatic means] to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and to prevent its regime from further threatening international peace and security." Sadly, they didn't. Recall that Trump tore up the JCPOA.

Why Attack Iran? Our Authoritarianism and Our Corruption

How to understand war with Iran? We must get away from propaganda. Facts suggest two interpretive frameworks: a foreign war as a mechanism to destroy democracy at home; and a foreign war as an element of personal corruption by the president of the United States.

Among the first casualties: 50 from the bombing of a girl's elementary school. Does the LPC government support that? This is an illegal war caused by a mad tyrant who wants to distract from his own domestic troubles and is envious of Obama's success with the JCPOA.

They're building concentration camps, they're suppressing the vote, they're taking control of the media, they're taking away people's rights.

Have to wonder if there is an economic upside for Anthropic here. At some point, the cash that is fueling the AI bubble will dry up, forcing AI firms to be more reliant on revenue from individual subscribers. Will sufficient people switch to/adopt Claude to offset the losses in the long term?

Depends on your definition of wrong. If you believe that removing guardrails that protect governments from corruption is a good thing, then absolutely nothing.

What? The PP rehabilitation tour not had an impact so far? Perhaps we need to see the results of his black death tour of Europe where he will likely meet with various luminaries, such as Tommy Robinson, Nigel Farage, & Alice Weidel to school him on immigration before jumping to conclusions?

UCP's fiscal flop has the scent of a Danielle Smith victory From the past to the future, there is no doubt that Alberta has a revenue problem; and Danielle Smith knows it.

Fiscal hawk, Danielle Smith. πŸ˜…πŸ˜’

"With this budget, the UCP has pushed Alberta’s debt over the $100 billion mark and there’s no plan to stop. Over the coming three years, they’re planning to grow our debt load to $138 billion"

if you believe in any form of free enterprise at all, the idea that the Pentagon can not only cut off your contract but designate you a supply chain risk and prevent other companies from buying from you just because you won't build killbots for the government should be terrifying

You used to be able to get cheap sources of protein many years ago. Those days are gone. Even things, such as pork hocks and liver, I used to subsist on during my student days are relatively expensive. And cooking liver & other offal does require some skill to make it acceptable to most palates.

It's unfortunate there's no Palestinian equivalent for AIPAC (or even better, no AIPAC or big money in US politics) to make it possible for this shift to be felt in government policies.

This also has the effect of reducing the tax room that municipalities have available to them to raise revenue to cover their own experiences.

After the province took the responsibility of funding public education away from municipalities, an honest government would have shifted that funding from property taxes to income taxes. Instead the UCP lets municipalities take the blame for provincial tax increases related to education.

This mind-bending relativity illusion has never been seenβ€”until now.

Using ultrafast lasers and a 300-picosecond camera, researchers at the University of Vienna and Vienna University of Technology visualized the rotating Terrell-Penrose effect, an effect of special relativity.
