I give care & learned how to care for self. Burnout is real. Be kind. Creative individuals, particularly artists and writers, are significantly more likely to experience mental challenges compared to the general public https://spotify.link/6raaQHGnQXb

I'm appreciating artists, actors and musicians more than ever before. Their talent and work ethic help keep me connected to my humanity. There's nothing like feeling the tingle and chills of a lyric or chord or dialogue of speech that resonates with the spirit.

My mother is sabotaging my summer wear goals. I'm targeting a two piece for May and she decides to hop on a fried food kick. Tonight it was hot water cornbread. Still I persevere.

Does the locker room grade refer to previous issues with sanitation and staph infections, aesthetics of the space, culture of the environment?? There are so many reasons for a failing grade.

This week I set a daily goal to wun (my term for walk/running) with a promise of Starbucks if I did so. I met it today! It's good to cheer oneself on in small ways. Those who say pull yourself up by the bootstrap don't care to get the importance of incentives until it comes to their own tax bracket.

Black-and-white portrait of Dr. Jane C. Wright (1919–2013), pioneering Black surgeon, oncologist, and "mother of chemotherapy," seated at a laboratory workbench in a clinical research setting. She wears a white lab coat over a dark top and gazes directly at the camera with a composed, focused expression. In front of her is a large compound microscope with multiple objective lenses, adjustment knobs, and a stage, positioned prominently in the foreground. Her left hand rests near an open notebook or lab record book on the table, while stacks of papers or slides are visible nearby. The background shows softly blurred lab equipment and shelving, evoking a mid-20th-century medical research environment.

I'm sure we've all seen the graphic that lays out the United States ' relationship with slavery. It's good, but I never thought it was quite impactful enough. So I made my own.

I've used a few key events, including my birth, to highlight how recent these events are in history.
