I’m soaked. Inside and out.

Turns out my raincoat is just as impermeable to water on the inside as it is on the outside.

So raising your arms to unhook the down pipe just means the entire gutter volume above you runs down the inside of your sleeve, along your arm and back and down your pants.

A blast of heavy rain made me realise one of my gutters was missing a gasket. So I went to fix it.

Any fule kno once you start working on your gutters, you can’t stop until they are all flowing free.

Cleared them, took the down pipes off the walls to unblock them too.

8pm on Sunday, in the rain…

Peonies of varying shades of pink in a vase.

For for years, these peony plants just sat there. This year they produced the goods.

My wife is v pleased.

It’s the late game tonight… doesn’t start until 11:30pm here and I have an early start tomorrow…

But - while I hate to miss the game - I have a theory that they play better when I’m not watching…

So I’ll make the sacrifice and go to bed early… you know, take one for the team!

Despite my wife’s protestations, I brought my bike into the lounge.

Cycled today.

Then walked up to the village with my son, and fell over on my driveway anyway.

Nothing broken, even my pride.

I went out (my shaded front door) for a Saturday jog and didn’t make it to 15 ft without slipping twice.

It’s not worth the fractured wrist, so I’ve come back in for the exercise bike instead.
