Australia has always been a reliably supine lapdog to US foreign policy...with perhaps a brief lapse during Whitlam period. Whereas both Canada and NZ have always taken a more independent stance more in line with their own national interests. And haven't suffered for it.

This justification of an "imminent" threat is extraordinary. The US's position is that it had to strike because it knew that its ally Israel was going to attack and induce Iran to respond
