Yep exactly. Phone calls & often did pop in visits to reassure parents if they had worries. As a community midwife we would sometimes pop in regularly at feeds for breast feeding mums too which made a huge difference & impacted so positively on BF rates. We didn't really how great it was then!

Ability to refer & talk to specialists, eg speech, OT, handover to school nurses joint visits with GP if needed. Families had proper support. We did birth- grave HV too so knew the whole family. I see families in FS now & they have no support. Don't know their HV. I do loads of HV support

The demise of the health visiting service, surestarts or any help for families for under 5's has had a huge impact. As a HV 20 yrs ago I knew my families, had autonomy to visit as it was needed. Post natal support groups, weaning grps, sleep clinics, toileting support

We just started a bushcraft programme for pupils who are constantly disrupting classes! Mixed ages 11-15. They are building their own camp, using tools and their engagement is through the roof!

Being outdoors in nature, having space calms us all. I personally think going outside should be on the top of every behaviour policy! Give them space to regulate, to calm instead of trying to reason with a stressed child!

I rarely struggle with engagement, behaviour, or agency with those I work with, always high attendance, and always outdoors! None of it's rocket science, we all feel better for spending time outside. But nothing ever changes, we still keep them confined to 4 walls!

Yep, completely get it! We have just managed to get all our ours under 1 roof for 4 days by the sea! First time in 5 years! I wish I appreciated it more when they were little!

Yes she did! She went to Aus on her own for 8 months. She did book on an organised tour for 6 weeks when she got there which helped as she made friends and together they then traveled more and has since been to Nepal. I'd recommend using a reputable company. Plan my gap year I think is good!

8 years ago Fruits of The Forest was born after leaving 28 yrs in NHS. I had 1 clear aim to help children & families grow in health & happiness. To this day it remains at the core of all I do. It's been a slog & never did I imagine that 8 years on, I would still be here! What a great job I have!
