Does your work overlap with your passion?
Working in enterprise UX, I never really know how to answer that. Am I passionate about car dealerships, cranes on construction sites, custom forms, finance and banking? Nope.
But I am passionate about solving complex problems. So, it kind of does?

Naaah chamomile is absolutely loyal good. Chaotic neutral would be like chai, but with some milk I guess π
06.10.2025 11:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Modern products intertwine the digital and physical. We must create flexible systems.
"If accessibility is the solution, then disability is the opportunity. Disability is complex, so we must design flexible solutions." - Dave Dame
"One size fits one", I love this quote from Bryce Johnson's talk on adaptive and inclusive controllers for video games. But to build this, we indeed need to think beyond our own assumptions. And recognize that not everyone can use the controller with 2 hands.

Vienna's weather wasn't nice to my throat, but the nice people from @uxtweak.bsky.social got the best goodies ever at uxcon vienna, let's hope it will help for tomorrow's talk!!

Back in August several academics raised concerns that a Deloitte report to government may have been generated using AI. Deloitte denied this and put the citation errors down to poor editing.
Anyway, Deloitte are refunding the government $440,000 for a report that was written using AI.
Big tech is laying off user researchers in droves, because it believes that coercing its customers is more profitable than silly things like "making good products people want to buy."
But now the FAFO pendulum is coming around, with Amazon's $2.5B dark pattern settlement and #a11y lawsuits galore.
I'm sometimes amazed (and annoyed) at how many typos I still have in some of my posts, even while using a plugin to check grammar and typos. Meh, welcome to low attention span non-native English speaker. Let's pretend it's on purpose to prove I'm a meat bag on an internet full of robots, okay?

Getting ready for uxcon Vienna
- slides: checked
- stickers: checked
- new badges: checked.
- luggage: hum, work in progress π
I hope to meet a couple of you there!!!!
Resisting the urge to get your whole wardrobe in the luggage because you are a mood dresser and can't plan in what mood you will be next week is hard.
I envy people who can plan their clothes. I'm just so bad at this π±
I love the conclusion here: βI don't think it's in bloating assistive tech with AI, but in teaching people how to write inclusively. It's cheaper and more sustainable, but itβs also a more ethical and empathetic path.β Yup
03.10.2025 11:01 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Okay, but at what cost? Many actually: low accuracy, development time, hardware strain, energy consumption, consumer impact (they might have to pay more for the screen reader).
03.10.2025 11:01 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Screen readers do not need to be saved by AI! I absolutely agree with @craigabbott.co.uk. Iβve been in many discussions where, people do something annoying for screen reader user (like the overuse of emojis), and instead of thinking why this is annoying go βyeah, but technology should solve itβ. .
03.10.2025 11:01 β π 6 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0Ha yeah. I should be fine. I also won't stop structuring things and writing long articles because this is what I've always done.
I've decided to go for a 4 topics 3 example for each in this one. Maybe this is why it sounds robotic, because it's perfect math. But it's also my choice
I'm scared it will tell me it's LLM text because it's too organized π
02.10.2025 20:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yeah exactly. How dare humans be organized and hoard information and content on specific topics π€£
02.10.2025 19:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0To be clear: I wasn't expecting the bullshit machine to come up with something useful anyway, but, still, this has been a fun adventure.
02.10.2025 16:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Does it mean, my brain works like a LLM? It takes me forever to pass most CAPTCHAS, so, maybe, I am a robot? What's reality? Who knows?
Anyway, it was a fun exercice.
3. "The exhaustive coverage plus neat structuring is LLM-ish": well, yes, I have 30 pages of research on the topic, with many sources, articles, etc. That's how I work. Also, I'm incapable of writing a small article, hahhaa. Yup.
