Pretty pleased with the way this turned out!

It was a bit nerve-wracking to hollow this one out, since I was so worried about the wood chipping on the edge—there wasn't much room for error—but I think it turned out great.

It's been a while since I've made any of these—the last batch of cap hangers I built were in late December. While I've been having a blast turning dice cups on the lathe recently, it's nice to revisit the item that prompted me to actually try my hand at selling my creations in the first place.

This was also one of the first times I used India ink to ebonize wood (sycamore). It's not something I plan on doing often, though I like the results.

So much sawdust today. Even though I was brushing it off from time to time, I didn't realize until far too late that it was getting inside my hoodie!

After weeks in the shop, as well as a bit of trial and error, I've finally got some of the new listings posted!

Given that I didn't even know they made beading cutters until just a moment ago, I'll consider this a decent result for my first real try, having used a diamond point to cut the beading

Also, I'm super happy with how strong the chatoyancy still is after ebonizing this one!

Four dice cups made, and about 2d8 to go. I'm having fun with trying different techniques, styles, and woods, ultimately refining my process a little with each subsequent piece.

I had just seen video of that service last night, and thought what they said was bold, brazen...and absolutely incredible!

Totally. I'd love if there were similar recipes that had alternate prep methods as an option.

At least for me, I've found sous vide to be great on days I lack energy/motivation, since I have a bigger window of when it's ready to serve (I often stress with timing multiple foods to be ready at once).

Just looked up the recipe, and it sounds delicious! Over the years, sous vide has come to be one of the most helpful cooking techniques I use regularly, though I often use it to batch-cook things because of how long it takes at times.
