He wants to tell American corporations not only where they should locate their facilities, but also whom they should hire and fire, who should serve on their boards (or not), what other companies to buy and sell, and sometimes even what they should make or sell to their customers and at what prices.

And in every case, he looks for opportunities to enrich himself and his family ("grift," they call that).

That is anything but conservatism, Reaganism, or free-market capitalism, but it's where he's taken what was once considered the pro-business, hands-off political party.
