Most Israelis would be willing to give up land for true peace. Unfortunately,there is no reliable partner. PA is the least worst of the options. But it’s not good enough. There needs to be an interim plan whereby Gaza is governed, for a few years at least by outside Arab forces

Israelis struggle with the pictures that they see from Gaza. But what choice does Israel have? Declare a ceasefire and pull of out Gaza? This will only be repeated in 3 or 4 years. Hamas must be eradicated. And if some Arab countries are willing to govern and rehabilitate Gaza, that would be great.

I don’t for a minute believe in the “extermination” stats. I was born in Israel, and I have family and friends there. Not one person has expressed such thoughts to me. I think we would see many more dead Gazans after 20 months of war had this been a predominant sentiment.

Not at all now. The sentiment to remove Palestinians from Gaza is understandable. There is a bottomless well of hatred for the Jews. Hamas has promised to repeat October 7 “again and again”. What sensible Israeli would want to live next to a people like this.

I saw this particular poll to which you refer and I consider it very suspect. A Pew poll from March, 2025 revealed that up to 50% of Israelis say that a two-state solution is possible. This is significantly down from previous years but to me,rather surprising. I was extremely optimistic after Oslo
