When you have a rubbish day at work, you can pretend you're in Torquay in late 1981...

I listen via AntennaPod, and it's one of the best podcasts there is. I think it's going to prove an invaluable bit of oral social history in future. But it's completely up to you whether you feel it's worth the money.

I blame the Pilkington committee. Without that bunch of snobbish middle class nano wits we could have had Channel Four, the natural home for this, in 1964.

A Maze in Telly โ€“ Stupid Rubbish

I will never, ever get used to the fact that sometimes you can write a blog post about something you adore, and then the person who created it pops up in the comments. Like this morning, when I noticed Ian McKim left a comment on my blog post about the 4 Square Maze music. www.kecskebak.hu?p=483

I haven't had a TSW T-shirt in years, but today I suddenly felt a pressing need to sport three enormous green brassieres so I sent off the order to the t-shirt company. #TelevisionSimplyWonderful

Interesting seeing the original Thames V logo - it seemed like they must have changed theirs from the start.

Book Of Small Hours, by TA Walker 6 track album

I'm on holiday. I'm playing with @godotengine.org and listening to this gem. Imagine Dark Side of the Moon, but with Syd there and Roger locked in the cupboard under the stairs...

So sad. I helped with what I think was the last "Closedown" he did. I was working on a DVD called "Beyond Tomorrow" about "The Tomorrow People" and Philip did a little closedown of the video; first from his armchair and then over a clock I animated. His announcement was warm, lovely and magnificent.

I actually managed to complete it; ironically I found the first level to be one of the hardest ones even when I could complete the final ones. My badge was stolen by the computer shop (not in the box, I never even realised I was supposed to have one till later), which I never forgave them for.

I have a feeling it'll be sold to a buyer in the TVS South region.

Looking at the yearbooks, Border's studios at the time were the same size as Channel's.

This was created based on a written description by Richard Logue. Apparently they weren't silent either; there were two different "The Antrim Road" jingles recorded for the two different idents as well.
