really tired of conversations about how we need to get people to spend more time offline that don't acknowledge that one of the reasons people ARE online is their access needs aren't being met in physical spaces. This is especially true for queer people and disabled people.

AO3 users feel entitled to story updates and the site being available 24/7, but many readers aren't willing to do the bare minimum and show authors that they appreciate and care for their work. Few also reblog writer's posts on socials like tumblr of bsky, when they could spread the love and

listen i love ao3 as much as the next guy but ive seen people quit fic writing over the past few years because people comment and engage with authors way less, and then everyone still freaks out when ao3 goes down- if a fic is irreplaceable to u, let the author know!
